About Me
Raised by a home-maker mother, who managed to put out fresh, nutritious and tasty meals, for our fairly large family (we are four siblings) on the table, day after day, I learnt to appreciate early in life, the joys of a well-pampered palate. I have to admit, however, that I learnt most of my cooking post-marriage, with the help of assorted long-distance phone calls to my mother, collecting recipe books and watching cookery shows. Working as a print journalist with a leading daily newspaper, meant long hours and a very cursory interest in cooking, except the odd special occasion or on holidays.

A stint with illness made me cautious about the importance of eating healthy, and later handling the food pages for a women’s magazine I was working for then, spurred my passion for picking up the ladle, and experimenting with cuisines. Moving with a restless spouse meant savouring the varied regional Indian cuisines of New Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad, where I am currently based out of.
This blog is an outcome of all one has experienced in the world of good food, including travelling and experiencing indigenous, local food and its my endeavour to record it for posterity. Bon Appetit!
